NOTD: Black Glitter Nails

I love experimenting with nail looks and because I'm going out tonight I found it was a perfect opportunity...

What I used/ did....

  • Firstly I painted a layer of E.L.F's dark navy onto my nails, which is a metallic looking black/ grey, I wouldn't describe it as navy though
  • Next I put a layer of E.L.F's twinkle on top, which is a beautiful glitter top coat, which I love on top of this colour because it makes the glitter look almost multicoloured!
And you're done! Hope it helped :)

Valentines Cupcakes!

Make someone's day special this Valentines with Valentines cupcakes! Valentines day isn't just about being in a relationship, it's about love, that can be any kind of love, friendship, family or being in a relationship! Lately I decided I don't show my friends how much they mean to me enough so with it being the last day before the holidays and nearing Valentines day to try and show them. I baked chocolate cupcakes, with pretty 'Valentines like' decorations and wrote their names in pink glitter icing!
Cupcakes in the oven, nom nom

My Valentines cupcakes! With my best friends names on :3

Example of what one of the cakes looked like!

    What I used:

    • Delia Smiths Complete cookery course recipe for 'All in one sponge' with teaspoons of cocoa powder added to make the cakes chocolatey, then spooned into cake cases
    • Love heart silicone (re-usable) cake cases- Sainsbury's
    • Dairy milk chocolate for the topping
    • Glitter icing writing tubes- Morrison's (Get four colours in the pack- blue, pink, white and lilac)

    Maybelline's Color Sensational Lip Stains/Pen....

At the weekend I decided to purchase Maybelline's Color Sensational Lip Stain in 'Shy Red' & 'Plum Flushed' because I'd heard great things about them in last weeks issue of LOOK magazine. I've worn them every day since and I have to say they're gorgeous! Firstly I cannot stress how they good they smell, of berry's and yummyness! The pigmentation isn't super pigmented but I like it about this because you can build the colour up depending on how bright you like your lips, which I like because you can use them to create a subtle lip or a bright hot pink/ red lips. They last a few hours before you have to top them up, which you could say is something bad about them but I hate it when I can't get lip stain off before bed, and it's still there days later!
Maybellines Color Sensational Lip Stains: In 'Shy Red' (Far one)  & 'Plum Flushed' (Nearest)

Swatches of the colours.. Plum Flushed then Shy Red
Hope this helped! Definitely recommend them :)

    Prom Dress Talk...

So lately every body's been getting their prom dresses and I'm stuck on which type of dress to get :( Red's my colour so I know I want a classy looking red dress but I don't want it to look tacky and want something different to what all my friends are going for, my choices are....
I was going to put a picture here... but the website I like the dresses on has some protection think where you can't copy and paste, save pictures or even print screen! So I'll have to put a link...

I have so much to choose from! ha ha, I love the low back/ back detail, because I think it's not the obvious thing that most people go for and can make a simple dress beautiful!
Hope this was helpful for anyone that's looking for something similar to me!

Hair of the day: Beach Waves!

So today I decided to do something different with my hair and decided to do a 'beach waves' inspired hairstyle. To create this hair style I used the Andrew Barton Making Waves Triple Barrel Hair wavers which are AMAZING &best of all, they're only £25.00 compared to the Babyliss ones which are £50.00, which I've also tried and got the same results! And with summer coming up this hairstyle will be perfect with a little summery dress and sandals!

Its a terrible photo but yeah, my 'beach waves' inspired hairstyle!

    E.L.F £1.50 Lipsticks!

I've recently discovered E.L.F's £1.50 lipsticks! Firstly £1.50 for a lipstick is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! But you would usually think for that price they can't be much good, however I couldn't have been more wrong! They're so colourful and pigmented and come in a wide range of beautiful colours! In the picture below I've swatched the colours and tried to take a good picture of the colours, in person the colours are  a LOT brighter (for example flirtatious is a neon pink) but unfortunately this pictures been taken at night, hence the terrible artificial lighting!
From left to right: Posh, Voodoo, Flirtatious, Nostalgic, Charming, Fantasy, Sociable,  Captivating,  Gypsy and Fearless.

My favourite is Nostalgic because its a beautiful everyday nude perfect for the likes of school or work and looks gorgeous with a smokey eye!

    New Trend, Capped/ Dipped Nails....

I think this trend for nails is gorgeous! Its so unusual and different, but exciting and colourful! There's so many combinations you can do and its great if you can't decide on one colour!
My Best friend Sarah decided to paint hers a dark navy/black colour with red sparkles on top, using E.L.F's 'dark navy' and Barry M's 'Red Glitter'

For myself I painted my nails a dark plummy purple colour and painted the other half gold, I used Maybellines 'Extreme Blackcurrent' and for the dipped half, L.A colours, art deco polish in 'Gold glitter' and E.L.F's 'Golden Goddess'

Review on Primark's Beauty OOH LA LA, Nail Foils.

For £1.00, these nail foils seemed worth trying. Although they only come in two designs, both of the designs are so cute! So this is the second time I've tried these nail foils because I didn't want to write a review without being sure what I think of them. The first time I tried them the nail foils lasted weeks, until one started to come off, which I think is great considering they're only £1.00!
They come in two pretty designs, leopard print and starry black and silver print!
    How to apply Nail Foils..

    • Firstly make sure you have no left over polish on the nail
    • Next cut pieces of the nail foil the shape of the nail
    • Then warm the nail foils, rubbing them between your fingers until the nail foils are bendy
    • Lastly peel the foil from the plastic sheet then place it in the nail and press it down, let it cool
    • File any excess foil from the nail using a nail file
    AND YOU'RE DONE!
    The final product!
